Sunday saw the twentieth running of the Wyvern Christmas Cracker 10K race
held on the beach at Weston Super Mare organized by Weston Athletic Club.  Whether was not ideal for the event with most of the beach saturated in water and a strong coastal breeze making life difficult for the runners.

However 26 Cheddar runners, the biggest turnout for Cheddar this year, did brave the conditions with many of them in fancy dress!  The Cheddar ladies dressed up as mice while Pete Hicks paraded in a Spiderman suit and Greg Brock dressed in, what could only be described as, a “Santa dress”!

The Santa dress did not distract Greg from his running and he finished first for Cheddar in a highly commendable time of 40:05, 25th place overall. Simon Tucker and Ed Willingham battled it out for second spot for Cheddar where Simon took the honors in a time of 40:58 (33rd place) with Ed just behind 41:06 (35th place).  Other finishers for Cheddar were Jim Scott 45:31 (119th place), Andy Hicks 46:30 (135th place), Helen Brook 47:27 (162nd place), Shane Roach 47:28 (163rd place), Phil Paton 47:25 (169th place), Pete Hicks 49:08 (215th place), Jo Burke 51:22 (292nd place), Sara Stobart 51:31 (300th place), Sarah Hill 51:37 (305th place), Mikki Coates 51:52 (316th place), Karen Graves 53:32 (383rd place), Nigel Redman 54:03 (408th place), Donna Brooks 54:24 (426th place), Suzanne Davis 59:23 (646th place), Alison Robinson 59:30 (650th place), Bethan Tucker 1:00:23 (684th place), Elaine De St Paer 1:02:11 (759th place), Isabelle Dormer 1:03:24 (806th place), Christine Belcher 1:04:01 (828th place), Rebecca Riddy 1:12:56 (1035th place), Hazel Wood 1:13:04 (1038th place), Cathy Bayliss 1:13:24 (1044th place) and Sarah Davies-Walters 1:22:49 (1131st place).
